Lord Crewe Hotel – 01668 214243 – Recently refurbished and under new management – provides good bar snacks as well as lunch, tea and dinner. Superfood in a relaxed modern dining room to the rear of the building.

Bamburgh Castle Hotel – 01665 720283 – Recently refurbished with views over the harbour serving traditional pub food.

Elan Pizzeria – 01665721311– Excellent value Italian food, take your own wine and they offer a takeaway service.  

Old Ship – Seahouses – 01665 720200 – Very old traditional fisherman’s pub very popular with locals and visitors alike. Simple lunches and great beer.

The Ship Inn, Newton by the Sea – 01665 576262 – Small very popular pub in the heart of the village green overlooking the sea. They serve food every lunchtime and evening meals at weekends in the summer. Need to book. There is a microbrewery attached to the pub. (They do not take credit/debit cards).

The Joiners Arms, Low Newton – 01665 576112 – Very popular gastro pub great for families.

Holy Island Barn At Beal – 01289 540044 –  On the road down to the Holy Island causeway 01289 540044. Restaurant and coffee shop in a converted barn next to the farm with the emphasis on good seasonal local produce. There is also a visitor centre as well as the stunning views over the causeway.

Amble The Old Boat House – Very good fish prepared by an award-winning chef. Very popular and has received very good reviews.

Carters – well-known family-run butchers selling the famous Bamburgh bangers and next door is their own deli

The Pantry – small deli

Wynding Down – delicious ice cream and coffees amongst other things

Larger Co-op supermarket and a good selection of shops in Seahouses, 2 miles down the road.  Swallows, the famous fish shop is also here but best to ask for directions.
